Profhilo for the neck

Many of my clients take great care of their face but forget about their neck. Then one day they catch a photo and notice the skin there looks thinner or more crepey than they expected. It is a very common concern.

Profhilo can be used on the neck as well as the face. Here is how it works and what to expect.

Why the neck ages differently

The skin on the neck is thinner than on the face. It has fewer oil glands and often gets less sun protection. We also spend a lot of time looking down at phones and screens, which can encourage horizontal lines.

All of this means the neck can show signs of ageing early. Common concerns include:

• Crepey or papery texture
• Horizontal neck lines
• Loss of firmness and bounce
• Dryness that skincare does not seem to fix

How Profhilo helps

Profhilo is a skin booster made from a high concentration of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid draws water into the skin. Once injected, Profhilo spreads gently through the area to hydrate the skin and improve its quality.

It does not add shape or volume. Instead it aims to make the skin look smoother, softer and better hydrated.

What treatment involves

For the neck, small amounts of Profhilo are placed across the area using a series of injection points. The exact number depends on your neck and what we are treating. The appointment is quick and most people find it comfortable enough.

Just like the face, the neck course is usually two sessions four weeks apart. Many people then choose maintenance sessions to keep their results going. I will give you personal guidance on this.

After treatment

You will see small bumps where the product was placed. These normally settle within a day. Some people have mild redness, swelling or bruising. The neck can bruise a little more easily than other areas, so it is worth planning around any events.

Aftercare is simple:

• Keep the area clean and avoid makeup or creams for around 12 hours
• Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours
• Skip saunas and steam rooms for a couple of days
• Wear high-factor sun protection on your neck every day

As with any injectable treatment there is a small risk of infection or reaction. We will go through this together before you decide.

Realistic expectations

Profhilo can make a lovely difference to neck skin quality. It will not remove deep lines or loose skin completely. For more significant laxity, a surgical opinion may be the right step. I will always be honest with you about this.

Results build gradually over several weeks after your second session. Everyone is different so results vary.

Combining face and neck
