Plenhyage XL Strong for sun damage and acne scarring
Plenhyage XL Strong is a polynucleotide skin booster that can help improve sun-damaged skin and acne scarring. Here is how a course works.
Sun damage and acne scarring can both affect how confident we feel about our skin. Skincare can help to a point. When it stops making a difference, a skin booster such as Plenhyage XL Strong may be worth considering.
What Plenhyage XL Strong is
Plenhyage XL Strong is a polynucleotide treatment. Polynucleotides are purified fragments of DNA, usually from fish. They are thought to support the skin's natural repair processes.
In practice this means they can help encourage collagen production and better hydration. Over a course, skin can start to look healthier, smoother and more even.
How it helps sun damage
Years of sun exposure can leave skin looking thinner and rougher. It can also lose elasticity and develop fine lines. Plenhyage XL Strong aims to support the skin as it repairs, which may help to improve:
- Rough or uneven texture
- Fine lines and crepiness
- Dullness and loss of glow
- Thin or fragile-feeling skin
It is not designed to remove pigmentation such as sun spots. For that, other treatments may be more suitable. We can talk about the best options for you.
How it helps acne scarring
Acne scarring can leave the skin with small dips and an uneven surface. Polynucleotides may help improve the quality of the skin around these areas. Some people find their scarring looks softer over the course.
It is important to be realistic. Deep scars are unlikely to disappear with skin boosters alone. Plenhyage XL Strong tends to work best for mild to moderate textural scarring. I will always be honest about what it can achieve for you.
It is also best to treat scarring once active acne is under control. If you still have breakouts, I may suggest seeing your GP or a dermatologist first.
The course
The usual course is two to four sessions three to four weeks apart. The number you need depends on your skin and your goals. After the course, maintenance treatments every six to nine months help to keep results going.
What treatment feels like
Small injections are placed across the treatment area. Some people find polynucleotides sting a little. The appointment is fairly quick and you can get back to most daily activities straight away.
Side effects
Small bumps at each injection site are normal and usually settle within a day or so. You may also have mild redness, swelling or bruising for a few days. Infection and allergic reactions are rare.
Plenhyage XL Strong is not suitable if you have a fish or seafood allergy. It is also not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Supporting your results
Daily high-factor sun protection is the single best thing you can do to protect your skin after treatment. A gentle skincare routine will help too.
When results appear
Results build slowly over the course. Most people notice their skin looks fresher a few weeks after starting. Results vary from person to person.
